Competitive inhibition assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002311

A biochemical assay designed to measure the binding affinity of a test substance by its ability to compete with a known ligand for a specific binding site on a target molecule. The reduction in binding of the labeled known ligand indicates the presence and concentration of the competing test substance. This method is widely used in drug discovery to identify potential therapeutic agents.
