Fluorescence polarisation assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004521

A homogeneous binding assay that quantifies molecular interactions by measuring changes in the rotational diffusion of a fluorescently labeled molecule upon binding to a larger partner. When a small fluorescent ligand binds to a larger molecule, its rotational speed decreases, leading to an increase in the observed fluorescence polarization. This assay is widely used in high-throughput screening for drug discovery.
