Fluorescence correlation assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004517

A technique that measures the concentration and mobility of fluorescently labeled molecules in a solution by analyzing fluctuations in their fluorescence signal. A laser is focused on a tiny observation volume, and as molecules diffuse through it, they emit photons that are detected over time. The resulting autocorrelation function provides information on diffusion coefficients, molecular weight, and binding interactions.
