Radioligand
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009894
A molecule that is labeled with a radioactive isotope and binds specifically to a receptor, enzyme, or other biological target. These labeled molecules are used in biochemical assays, such as receptor binding studies, to quantify the number of binding sites or to measure the affinity of unlabeled ligands. Common radioisotopes used include tritium (3H) and iodine-125 (125I).
