Tritium
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012308
A radioactive isotope of hydrogen, denoted as 3H or T, containing one proton and two neutrons in its nucleus. It has a half-life of 12.32 years and undergoes beta decay to helium-3. Tritium is naturally produced in the upper atmosphere by cosmic ray interactions and is used as a radioactive tracer in chemical and biological research.
