Tritium

A radioactive isotope of hydrogen, denoted as H-3 or T, containing one proton and two neutrons in its nucleus. It is naturally produced in the upper atmosphere by cosmic ray interactions and is also a byproduct of nuclear reactions. Tritium is used as a tracer in hydrological and atmospheric studies to track water movement and atmospheric transport processes.
