Deuterium
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004957
A stable isotope of hydrogen, also known as heavy hydrogen, containing one proton and one neutron in its nucleus. In atmospheric science, the ratio of deuterium to hydrogen in water vapor and precipitation provides insights into past climate conditions and hydrological cycles.
