Affinity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000316

The strength of the non-covalent binding interaction between two molecules, such as a ligand and a receptor, or an antibody and an antigen. It is quantitatively expressed by the dissociation constant (Kd), which represents the concentration of ligand at which half of the binding sites are occupied. A lower Kd value indicates higher affinity.
