Enzyme-linked immunospot assay

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004004

A laboratory technique used to detect and quantify cytokine-secreting cells at a single-cell level. Cells are incubated on a membrane coated with an antibody specific for the secreted molecule, which is then detected by a secondary enzyme-linked antibody. This assay provides a quantitative measure of the frequency of specific cytokine-producing cells, often expressed as spot-forming units per million cells.
