Chemotype

A chemically distinct entity within a species or population, characterized by a specific profile of secondary metabolites. These chemical variations can arise from genetic differences or environmental factors, leading to distinct biochemical phenotypes. For example, different chemotypes of a plant species may produce varying ratios of essential oil components.
