Genetic polymorphism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004836
The occurrence of two or more genetically determined phenotypes in a population, where the rarest allele has a frequency greater than 1%. This variation can involve single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), insertions, deletions, or copy number variations. Such polymorphisms contribute to individual differences in disease susceptibility and drug response.
