Polymorphism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009209
The occurrence of two or more genetically determined forms of a trait or gene within a population, where the least common allele has a frequency of at least 1%. These variations can manifest as differences in DNA sequence, protein structure, or observable characteristics. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are a common type of genetic polymorphism.
