Polymorphonuclear leukocyte
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009210
A type of white blood cell characterized by a multi-lobed nucleus and granular cytoplasm. These cells are a key component of the innate immune system, primarily involved in phagocytosis and inflammation. Neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils are the three main types of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, distinguished by their granule staining properties.
