Eosinophil
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004007
A type of white blood cell, or leukocyte, characterized by the presence of granules in its cytoplasm that stain readily with eosin, a red acidic dye. These cells are involved in allergic reactions, parasitic infections, and certain chronic inflammatory conditions. Eosinophils typically constitute 1-6% of the total white blood cell count in healthy individuals.
