Chimera
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001997
An organism composed of cells from two or more distinct zygotes, resulting in genetically different cell populations within the same individual. This can occur naturally through processes like fusion of embryos or artificially through experimental manipulation. In developmental biology, chimeras are used to study cell lineage and tissue development.
