Acyclic diene metathesis polymerisation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000212
A type of step-growth polymerization where acyclic diene monomers react via olefin metathesis to form a polymer and a small molecule byproduct, usually ethene. This reaction is catalyzed by transition metal complexes, such as those based on ruthenium or molybdenum. It is a powerful method for synthesizing unsaturated polymers with controlled microstructures.
