Charcoal tube
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001890
A sampling device consisting of a glass tube packed with activated charcoal, used to collect airborne organic vapors by adsorption. Air is drawn through the tube, and the charcoal traps the analytes. The adsorbed compounds are subsequently desorbed, typically with a solvent, for analysis by gas chromatography.
