Flame-in-tube atomizer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013111
A device used in atomic spectroscopy where a flame is contained within a tube, often made of quartz, to atomize a sample. The tube provides a longer residence time for the atoms in the optical path, which can enhance sensitivity. A carrier gas transports the analyte into the heated tube for atomization.
