Chemical equilibrium
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001945
A state in a reversible chemical reaction where the rate of the forward reaction equals the rate of the reverse reaction, resulting in no net change in the concentrations of reactants and products. At equilibrium, the Gibbs free energy change for the reaction is zero. The position of equilibrium is quantified by the equilibrium constant.
