Esin and Markov coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004098

A coefficient that quantifies the dependence of the potential difference across an interface on the chemical potential of an adsorbed species. This coefficient is particularly relevant in electrochemistry for understanding the adsorption behavior of ions at electrode surfaces. It relates changes in electrode potential to changes in the activity of specific ions in solution.
