Huggins coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005412

An empirical parameter that quantifies the polymer-solvent interactions in dilute polymer solutions, reflecting the deviation from ideal solution behavior. It is derived from the Huggins equation, which describes the concentration dependence of the reduced viscosity. The value of the Huggins coefficient provides insight into the quality of the solvent for a given polymer.
