Eschar

A piece of dead tissue that has become detached from the surrounding healthy tissue, often appearing as a dry, dark scab. This necrotic tissue forms after a burn, frostbite, or certain infections, such as anthrax. It can also result from chemical exposure or pressure ulcers.
