Ulcer

A localized defect or excavation of the surface of an organ or tissue, resulting from the shedding of inflamed necrotic tissue. This lesion can occur in the skin, mucous membranes, or internal organs, often accompanied by inflammation and pain. Gastric ulcers, for example, are frequently associated with Helicobacter pylori infection or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug use.
