Nodule

A small, solid, circumscribed, and palpable lesion that is larger than a papule. Nodules can form in the skin, lungs, or other organs as a result of inflammation, infection, or neoplastic growth following exposure to a toxic substance. In dermatopathology, a nodule is defined as a lesion with a diameter greater than 0.5 centimeters.
