Silicosis

A chronic, progressive lung disease caused by the inhalation of crystalline silica dust, leading to inflammation and scarring of the lung tissue. This condition is a form of pneumoconiosis, primarily affecting workers in mining, quarrying, and construction. It is characterized by the formation of fibrotic nodules in the lungs.
