Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011313
A benign pneumoconiosis resulting from the inhalation and retention of tin or tin oxide dust in the lungs. This condition is characterized by the presence of radiopaque deposits in lung tissue, visible on X-rays. Unlike some other pneumoconioses, stannosis typically does not lead to fibrosis or impaired lung function.
