Stand-by state

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011312

A condition of an analytical instrument or system where it is powered on and ready for immediate operation but is not actively performing a measurement or analysis. In this state, the instrument maintains stable operating conditions, such as temperature or gas flow, to minimize warm-up time. This contrasts with a shut-down state, where the instrument is completely powered off.
