Start-up time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011323
The time interval between turning an instrument on and its reaching the stand-by state, the condition in which the analytical procedure can begin immediately. It covers the warm-up and stabilisation of components such as lamps, detectors, thermostatted zones and flows. An instrument already in stand-by has no start-up time, and one that has been shut down must go through it again.
