Bottom-up ecotoxicological study

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001447

An ecotoxicological investigation that begins by examining the effects of a toxicant at lower levels of biological organization, such as individual organisms or populations, and then extrapolates these effects to higher levels, like communities or ecosystems. This approach focuses on understanding how individual responses to stressors propagate through ecological hierarchies. It contrasts with top-down studies, which start at the ecosystem level.
