Analytic study
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000549
An epidemiological investigation designed to test a specific hypothesis about the relationship between an exposure, such as to a chemical, and a health outcome. These studies include a comparison group to allow for the quantification of the association between the exposure and the outcome. Common designs for analytic studies include case-control, cohort, and cross-sectional studies, which differ in how subjects are selected and how data are collected over time.
