Case cohort study
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001691
A method of sampling from a large prospective cohort in which all individuals who develop a disease of interest (cases) are included for analysis. A comparison group is formed by taking a random sample, the subcohort, from the entire cohort at the beginning of the study, regardless of their future disease status. This design differs from a nested case-control study, where controls are selected at the time each case is diagnosed.
