Ecological energetics

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003548

The study of energy flow and transformation within ecosystems, examining how energy is acquired, stored, and transferred among different trophic levels. This field quantifies the energy budgets of organisms and populations, as well as the overall energy dynamics of an entire ecosystem. It often involves measuring biomass production and respiration rates.
