Shut-down state

A condition of an automated analytical system where it is not operating and is prepared for a prolonged period of inactivity. This state involves the cessation of all analytical processes and often includes procedures for system preservation or maintenance. The system remains in this state until manually or automatically reactivated for further analysis.
