Shunt

A bypass or diversion of fluid, such as blood or cerebrospinal fluid, from one part of the body to another. In neurotoxicology, a shunt can refer to a surgical procedure to relieve pressure caused by excess fluid accumulation in the brain. It creates an alternative pathway for fluid drainage.
