Standardization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011311
The process of determining the exact concentration of a solution, known as a titrant, by reacting it with a known quantity of a primary standard. This procedure establishes a precise relationship between the volume of the titrant and the amount of substance it reacts with. The standardized solution can then be used as a secondary standard to determine the concentration of other unknown solutions through titration.
