Gravimetric analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005013
A quantitative chemical analysis method that determines the amount of an analyte by precisely measuring the mass of a solid product. The analyte is converted into a stable, weighable precipitate or a volatile product whose mass difference is measured. This method requires careful control of precipitation conditions and thorough washing and drying of the precipitate.
