Radiogravimetric analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009887
Quantitative determination of an analyte by precipitating it and measuring the radioactivity of the precipitate instead of weighing it. The precipitate carries a radioactive isotope of the element being determined or of the precipitating reagent, and calibration with known amounts converts the measured activity into mass. The method works for precipitates too small to weigh accurately.
