Gravimetric factor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005014
A conversion factor used in gravimetric analysis to calculate the mass of an analyte from the mass of a weighed precipitate. It is a stoichiometric ratio derived from the chemical formulas of the analyte and the precipitate. The gravimetric factor is calculated by dividing the formula mass of the analyte by the formula mass of the precipitate, with each multiplied by the appropriate integer coefficients from the balanced chemical reaction.
