Silicones
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010864
Polymeric compounds containing repeating siloxane (-Si-O-) units in their backbone, with organic groups attached to the silicon atoms. They are also known as polysiloxanes and can be linear, branched, or cyclic. Silicones exhibit high thermal stability, water repellency, and flexibility, making them widely used in sealants, lubricants, medical devices, and cosmetics.
