Polysiloxane

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009238

A class of polymers characterized by a backbone consisting of alternating silicon and oxygen atoms, with organic groups attached to the silicon atoms. These polymers, commonly known as silicones, exhibit high flexibility, thermal stability, and water repellency. They are widely used in sealants, lubricants, medical devices, and personal care products.
