Cationic polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001745

A polymer that possesses a net positive charge when dissolved or dispersed in a suitable solvent, due to the presence of cationic groups along its backbone or as side chains. These positive charges arise from protonated amine groups, quaternary ammonium groups, or other positively charged functionalities. Such polymers are widely used in water treatment as flocculants and in personal care products for their conditioning properties.
