NOD-like receptor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013338
A class of intracellular pattern recognition receptors that are part of the innate immune system. They detect specific molecular patterns associated with pathogens or cellular stress within the cytoplasm, triggering an inflammatory and antimicrobial response. These proteins characteristically contain a central nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD or NACHT), a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain for sensing, and a variable N-terminal effector domain like a pyrin domain (PYD) for signaling.
