Pattern recognition receptor

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008549

A type of receptor expressed by cells of the innate immune system that recognizes conserved molecular patterns associated with pathogens or cellular damage. These receptors bind to pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs). Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are a well-known family of these receptors.
