Dead polymer chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002880
A polymer chain that has undergone a termination reaction, such as disproportionation or combination, and can no longer participate in further chain growth. These chains are stable and do not possess active sites for propagation. The concentration of dead polymer chains increases over the course of a polymerization reaction.
