Inactive chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005751
A polymer chain that is not currently propagating, either a dead chain that has been terminated for good, for example by combination, disproportionation or chain transfer, or a dormant chain that is only temporarily deactivated and can be reactivated, as in reversible-deactivation polymerization. Only the dormant kind can resume growth.
