Dormant polymer chain
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003389
A polymer chain that has temporarily ceased growing but retains its ability to reactivate and continue polymerization. This state is characteristic of reversible-deactivation radical polymerization, where active radical species are reversibly converted into inactive, dormant forms. The equilibrium between active and dormant species controls the polymerization rate and polymer chain length distribution.
