Inactive
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005750
A test sample whose measured response in an assay stays below the hit threshold at the concentration used. Inactivity is therefore relative to the assay, concentration, and threshold chosen, so a compound inactive in one screen can be active in another. It differs from a negative control, which is a deliberately included sample such as vehicle alone that defines the baseline response.
