Burn-up fraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001547
The ratio of the number of fissions that have occurred in a nuclear fuel to the initial number of heavy atoms present in that fuel. It represents the proportion of nuclear fuel that has been consumed through fission reactions. This fraction is a dimensionless quantity, often expressed as a percentage.
