Burn-up
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001546
The fraction of fissile or fissionable atoms that have undergone fission in a nuclear reactor fuel. It quantifies the extent to which nuclear fuel has been consumed. This value is often expressed in terms of energy released per unit mass of fuel, such as megawatt-days per metric ton (MWd/t).
