Fuel cycle

The complete sequence of operations involved in producing electricity from nuclear fuel. This includes uranium mining, milling, enrichment, fuel fabrication, use in a reactor, and the reprocessing or disposal of spent fuel. The cycle can be open, where spent fuel is disposed of, or closed, where it is reprocessed and recycled.
